Week Four Finished!!!Views: 256

I just finished radiation #20, woohoo! Only 16 more to go, I was supposed to have 38 but I will be having 36, my last treatment will be on November 3rd after that I don’t know what I’ll do with all the free time. You get used to the daily visits to the hospital, my doctor appointments will be every eight weeks with the oncologist and every eight weeks with my PCP on alternating months for sometime.

My skin is holding up really well, it is really pink by the end of the week but by monday it looks normal again. I have one tiny spot on my collar bone that had a couple spots that have little scabs, I don’t know when they appeared, I just know they are there.

My daughter took a couple of pictures of my hair so everyone can see what it looks like but the close up she loaded at work and it is still on her work computer, but I’ve attached one of the two of us but you really can’t see my hair well, it is like little fine duck feathers. I am sad to say that it is mostly white, not gray but white. But that’s okay white is easy to cover right?

Keep on fighting!

Angelwthwingz,

Did I spell that right? If not, sorry, must be chemo brain. tee hee hee

Yeah for you, you will finish your radiation in less than a month. Do you mind: Hallelujah!

I hope all goes well. It is wonderful to hear good news.

That’s great news and by the time it’s over you will have no doubt radiated it to kingdom come. I imagine you soothe cream on the area quite often. I did that and it really helped a lot.
Well, just glad that you have an upbeat and posititve attitude. That always is the best medicine.

Yay! Happy for you! You’ll be done right in time before holiday season.
I love your picture with your daughter. 6 weeks and hair is growing out already, that’s no bad at all!

Yuyu

glad to hear that you are feeling better and that your chemo will be finished soon
By the way ,,, white hair is means very suffiticated and wise,,, so thing about it before covering it up,, You are now a wise lady,,,
have a super great weekend ,, and we will continue to pray for one another

Hey, you are right where I was a very short time ago! I got the “duck feathers” just before my chemo was finished. After 6 weeks of radiation, my hair was “in” enough that I felt I could go without my caps. Oh, and it was white. Then it started growing slowly salt and pepper (that’s what it was before——I’m 55). It took so long I got scared that it wasn’t ever going to grow back in really. After another four months, it came in, curly and mostly gray. Am I ever happy! I don’t care what it looks like, I’m just glad it’s back. Hang in there——-your’s in on its way.
Enjoy!

Yeah! More than halfway there! I’m happy to hear that your skin is ok. My skin became very itchy toward the end. It still itches some, but not so bad. It is an odd feeling at the end of treatment because you are used to the daily hospital visits. But its a great feeling too!

XOXO

Angel,
Blessings and warm wishes. Thought i would jot down this little message—-it’s always nice to know that someone is out there. Keep up the good fight, I’ll ask my sister to watch over you. If you feel up to it, look at my home page which will direct you to my sister’s photo gallery for cancer patients and their families and friends, hope it brings you beauty and inspiration.

warm hugs,
miriam
