One more week complete!Views: 530

Week two down! Only 28 more to go.

When I was getting chemo I was hoping to keep my eye brows and eye lashes and fortunately I did. Eye lashes are important stuff, they keep dust and other stuff out of your eyes.

As all of you know my journey has been an unusual one, having side effects and hospital stays for all kinds of crazy stuff, well where is this going you ask? So I am done with chemo for 5 weeks now and my eye brows and eye lashes are falling out!. What the heck is that about? My eye lashes have chunks missing out of the center of my eye and the left brow is almost gone but the right one is fighting to stay, but is slowing losing it’s battle. Radiation will make your hair fall out at the site of radiation but usually not other places, and all my other hair is growing, slowly but it is growing.

O’well at least I keep it interesting. Hope you all are well.

Angelwthwingz,
I know its not the same, but when I had the treatment to kill my tumor in my eye the first thing they did was cut off my eye lashes. Not a lot of fun, just pick up some drops it helps a bit.

Cheers,

Eyecandy (Paul)

Hi Angel,
That is weird about your eyelashes & brows, sorry to hear you are loosing them now.

I too have kept my eyelashes & brows so far after 5 chemo treatments. But, I had A LOT of brows and they have thinned out quite a bit. I still have one more chemo to go and I talked to a lady that didn’t loose her lashes & brows until after her 6th treatment, so I’m guessing I may still loose mine.

Glad to hear the other hair is growing back.

Keep us posted.
Hugs,
Wendy

When I was younger I had big, thick, bushy eyebrows and long eyelashes. My 2 chemos took care of a lot of that. The chemo in 1994 thinned them both out and they never came back that thick. It was ok because they were way too thick. I don’t have to tweeze now….LOL.
Paul is right. Eye drops helps a lot.
Take care. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs, Joyce

Wow! Eyelashes and Eyebrows too. I went to the store after reading about losing y lashes and bought a few paird of fake ones. Let me just tell you that they are not easy to put on! I must have mangled quite a few pairs before I got the knack of it.
Sonia

Anglewingz; Hope you found a sexy pair of eyelashes. I used to wear them when I was much younger when I would go to a formal dance. They were a lot of fun. I think they have much better ones these days. Just make sure to take them off before you go to bed. My god what else to you loosed with this chemo. It’s bad enough to loose your self respect but really eyelashes and eyebrows, come on now can’t the medical people find something a little less toxic? Oh to be bald….
Take care.
Weezie
